I live here, so I have to deal with this city's problems every day. Traffic is heavy, service is subpar (but better than anywhere else in the nation), and crime and drug use have engulfed the downtown area and its immediate surroundings. The city is pretty ugly. Nevertheless, if you want a place in Brazil that's serious and actually features things to do, São Paulo is it. Once in a blue moon, someone speaks English; there's actual infrastructure for tourists; you can eat properly in a consistent manner; and there's always (and I mean always) something to do at night.RKasBrazil - 8.0Scored 8.0

It is a very expensive place, with an awful traffic, reasonable public transportation (outside rush hours, please), and some interesting cultural activities. There is too many homeless people but do not harm. This only makes the environment dirty and smelly. If you secure yourself, if you do bot put yourself in a bad situation like going alone in the late night to somewhere yo do not know, this ofc attracts danger. Sao Paulo is very nice. I believe 3-4 days will be enough for the city. I highly recommend Ibirapuera Park. You can spend your whole day away from the chaos. And I can recommend Sala Sao Paulo. It is a hotel, college dormitory, and hostel all in one. The rooms were perfect, I arrived hours before check in and was able to stay in one of the hostel beds until my room was ready. And I must say I almost considered just staying in the hostel portion of the hotel because it was so nice and clean. This property is modern and impeccably clean. The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful, especially Ana. I will definitely stay here again!
